Featured Artist: Brianne F.

Brianne

Meet Brianne F., a fantastic and very creative bracelet designer.  Brianne started making jewelry in 2007  during her "quarter-life crisis," and says, "After burning out at work, I needed to be productive away from the computer."

Brianne was drawn to bracelet making when a friend started making jewelry. "I took a handful of classes just to learn the basics. I was hooked after one class.  The rest I've figured out by looking at other jewelry or online."

On her greatest accomplishment, Brianne says, "Making jewelry has become a passion of mine.  I don't think that would be the case when I began.  Selling online has been a big accomplishment as it takes a lot of courage to put yourself and your work out there for the world to see."

We think she is fantastic and appreciate her courage!  Check out her work in the featured section on The Sweetest Stitch!

Our first 10 Weeks

The opening of The Sweetest Stitch has been amazing!  I cannot begin to tell you how grateful and excited I am about the progress made.  On March 13, 2011, The Sweetest Stitch went "live" with 5 listings, and today we have over 230 items in our store!  I hope to double that number in the next 4 weeks. **fingers crossed**

The Sweetest Stitch began in October of 2010 with the thought of time and craft. Handcrafting is certainly time consuming, but that is not the only reason we should buy handcrafted items.  We should buy these items because they are unique, distinctive, and most defiantly NOT machine made.  Handcrafts are in fact hand made and the imperfections tell the story of craft and crafter.

I have met and work with some special and VERY talented individuals.  I would like to personally thank all vendors that have entrusted me with their handcrafts, and hope that I've established business relationships that last years...rather, decades.

TSS list fees and commission prices are purposely set low.  It is not my intention to make a significant amount of money "off the backs" of handcrafters because they quite often sell their creations for a lot less than they deserve.  When you consider the amount of time put into each piece and competition from foreign made items, handcrafters HAVE to set prices low for consumers to even consider them when making a purchase.  And these handcrafters are forever grateful when they make a sale.

Additionally, I would like to thank customers who have purchased items, and all of my friends and family for spreading the word about The Sweetest Stitch.  You have helped draw traffic to the site and I cannot thank you enough.
